Musical Monday #7
A bit of 1987 Christmas cheese cheer for you all, this week of office Christmas parties.
New Me
So after my Mr Scrooge post on Sunday, I’ve somewhat changed my tune. Once I knew I had money in the bank on Monday I visited most of the internet and ordered about 75% of the presents I need to buy. Most have already been delivered which is amazing. I have wrapping paper, cards and some new decorations. I want to put the tree up on Saturday. What is wrong with me! For a start, my boss believes Christmas starts on 1st December so all day long (and apparently right through to the 12th day) we have been listening to Christmas music. We are buying a real tree tomorrow and are decorating it while suitably imbibed with mulled wine. The boss is already plannning a staff Christmas lunch (by this I mean a proper turkey dinner in her house with all the trimmings) and our office party is going to be an all-dayer on Friday18th.
The plan for that day is drinks and breakfast in the office, followed by a “traditional pint” in a local pub, followed by lunch at a restaurant that I’ve now forgotten (it’s changed so many times), followed by checking in a lovely hotel and getting ready for the evening, followed by a bar crawl in a posh part of Cheshire, followed by a meal at a Thai restaurant, followed by a reserved booth in a very trendy bar until the early hours (frequented by footballers and WAGs apparently. And you can hire your own umpa-lumpa to serve your drinks. Really). Followed by full English breakfast in a pub on Saturday morning. I may even be wearing a DRESS, people.
Today was a momentous day. Today, I went to the gym before work. And I actually enjoyed it. The good thing about my job being so close to home is that I can get up, throw my gym stuff on and get there for a good 90 minute workout without having to get up any earlier. I was still at my desk for 8.30. I was buzzing till about 11am and then I started to feel tired, but I’m determined to do this three times a week, because it’s such an ideal time for me. And it’s a lovely gym.
